Holy Muther! This is a good one! Surprisingly so!
Neither Debbie or I had tried this drink before yesterday, but we had heard about it from Sherril, one of Debbies besties. She told Debbie that she had one on her birthday and since Debbie loves a good margarita, she had to try it.
Plus, like magic, Debbie happened to have a bottle of coconut cream syrup in her cupboard. Go figure…
We were so surprised just how tasty it was! You can really taste all the flavors. The tangy lime, smooth sweet coconut with a kick of spice. Fantastic! And perfect for the sunny weekend were going to have! No more fall blues for me!
If your wondering where the heck you can find coconut cream syrup, Debbie got hers at HY Louie. I have never been to the store, but according to Debbie, they have all kinds of neat things for the kitchen. Im looking forward to popping in there to see for myself!
If you dont feel like going on a hunt for coconut syrup, what I would do is make a simple syrup (1 part water, 1 part sugar and then simmer till reduced and syrupy) and then add coconut cream to it till it tastes very coconuty.
The rest is simple. Tequila, coconut water, lime, and chili flakes. Shake. Serve.
- 2 oz Tequila
- 1 - 1.5 oz Coconut Cream Syrup
- 4 oz Coconut Water
- 1/2 Lime , juiced
- Pinch of Chili Flakes
- Put some ice in a shaker.
- Pour in the tequila, coconut syrup, coconut water, and lime juice.
- Give it a shake to mix the syrup.
- Fill a glass with ice and pour in the drink.
- Sprinkle a couple chili flakes in, give it a stir and serve.
