Its been three weeks back at work and we are all back into the swing of things after the holidays, but Im sure looking forward to the weekend! This weekend going to be a chilled out weekend. Just what we need. Kevin’s going to be working on his new trailer, getting it all organized with all his tools (he builds houses for a living so he has a LOT of tools) so Debbie and I are going to get together and make some yummy recipes and a cocktail or two!
Its kind of funny. Debbie and I were talking a couple weeks ago and thought that maybe one of these days we should get together and NOT cook anything. It would actually be kind of weird! We told Mark our idea and he laughed at us and said, “as if that will happen” lol. What can I say, we like to cook. 🙂 It makes us happy…
Im sure Mark wont mind what we are going to cook up this weekend and I think he might be at home. He usually works Saturdays but he managed to fall down a cliff at work last week and tore his bicep! He had surgery last Friday so he might be taking it easy this weekend. Maybe have one of these hot drinks and relax a bit. He doesn’t get too much time to relax so he should take advantage of this situation a little. Who am I kidding, he was probably at work every day this week….
I don’t have too much to say about this drink. Its so simple, but its super tasty. Just hot water and Baileys or Carolans Irish Cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Its a creamy, not too strong, slightly sweet and spiced mug of deliciousness.
Since it has no caffeine its the perfect nightcap to sip on after dinner if you are just cuddled up on the couch watching tv with your hunny or after a day out in the snow, like Debbie and I after snowmobiling the other weekend. Better yet, fill up a thermos with this mixture if your going out in the cold weather as a warmer-up-er.
- 2 oz balieys irish cream or caroylas irish cream
- 4 oz hot water
- sprinkle of cinnamon
- Mix the balieys or carolynns with the hot water, sprinkle with cinnamon, stir and serve.
