Pineapple, Raspberry and Peach Sangria Blanca

Nothing says summertime like Sangria!  And right now I have summer on the brain.  Its Friday and its time for a drink!  TGIF!

Sangria

We called this Sangria “Blanca” because its made with white wine.  I did a little research on google and Wikipedia says thats what its called, so there you go…   Did you know that Sangria is actually named after the Spanish and Portuguese word for “bloodletting” because of its typical dark-red color? Interesting choice of name…

Sangria-4

I am a white wine girl so I prefer Sangria Blanca over the regular Sangria.  I like red wine but it gives me a head ache, sometime even after one glass so I mostly stay away from it.  Debbie prefers red over white wine, but I convinced her to try this Sangria instead and she loved it.  As did everyone else!  My sister Sam even liked it and she doesnt like even like wine!

I think typically traditional red wine Sangria has a little brandy in it, but instead we decided to use Peach Schnapps!  Yum!  Gives it a little more kick than just with the wine and the underlying flavor of peaches.   We use quite a bit in our recipe. 😉 It tastes delicious and its not as strong as you might think when  you read the recipe, however, you can add as much or as little of it as you like.

Sangria Blanca

We decided to make this Sangria with Pineapple and Raspberries because Debbie found some  beautiful Raspberries at the store and Pineapple is my favorite 🙂   Sangria is great like that, you can pretty much use any sort of fruit combination.  I think the juicier fruits are better and although Raspberries arent really juicy, they just add a punch of flavor.

Sangria Blanca

In my opinion, sparkling Sangria is the best.  We chose to use Club Soda in ours, as we do with most of our sparkly drinks, because it bubbles but doesnt have any extra sugar and it wont make the drink too sweet.

Its sweet and fruity, bubbly and a little bit tangy from the wine.  Its probably my favorite Sangria to date!

    1. Hi Susan 🙂 We found raspberry juice in the juice aisle, in a glass jar. I have also seen it as frozen concentrate. However, if you cant find it, look for raspberry lemonade or a blend of juices with pineapple and raspberry.
