Gyoza Lettuce Wraps with the Best Dipping Sauce Ever

Tender, low carb gyoza lettuce wraps filled with gyoza dumpling filling and an amazing sauce to drizzle on top! Have your gyoza without the wrapping!

Ingredients

  • 500 g ground pork
  • ½ med onion finely chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic grated or minced
  • 2 tbsp ginger grated or minced
  • 1 cup carrot shredded
  • 2 cups napa cabbage finely chopped
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • salt to taste

FOR THE DIPPING SAUCE

  • 4 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 4 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic pressed or finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ginger finely chopped or grated
  • 1 green onion finely sliced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ¼ tsp chili flakes
  • 1 head lettuce for the cups Butter lettuce or Iceberg lettuce work the best
  • 1/2 cup carrots julienned
  • 1/4 cup green onion chopped

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, cook the ground port till its browned and then add the onion, garlic, ginger, carrots and cabbage. Cook until the cabbage is soft. Add the sesame oil and season with salt to taste.

FOR THE DIPPING SAUCE

  • In a medium bowl, mix together the rice vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, green onion and chili flakes. Let the sauce sit for around 15 mins before you serve it.

TO ASSEMBLE THE LETTUCE WRAPS

  • Take a leaf of the lettuce, fill it with the pork mixture, and spoon some sauce on top.
  • Eat and love every bite!
